Why group pictures?

• Grouping makes browsing of images easier. If the picture is grouped with other photos, then on the viewing page a link All photos in group appears under the full-size image. Clicking on it opens a panel containing previews (small copies) of all images included in the group, as well as a link Show full-size images. By clicking on it, you can see all the full-size pictures included in the group right on this page.
• Grouping makes moving of images easier. When transferring an image to the required taxon, all photos grouped with it will be automatically moved together.
• Grouping makes identification of taxa more successful. Both on the site and on the forum, all pictures of one plant/lichen can be seen at once, and all visible signs can be taken into account. It also prevents images of one specimen from moving to different taxa.
• Grouping makes management of images easier. Regardless of the time and load order, grouped images appear together on the "Set of images" and "Unidentified specimens" pages, rather than interspersed with images from other authors.

What pictures should be grouped?

Photos have to be grouped if they show

• one specimen;
• specimens of one population, thicket or natural group.

How to include image in a group during upload?

To place a photo in a group when uploading to the site, enable the "Group with photo" option in the form, and then select the photo with which you want to group the photo (ungrouped or any of those included in the desired group) in the list that opens.

How to include a previously uploaded photo in a group?

1. Go to the "Set of images" page of the taxon.
2. Open the form by clicking on the "preview" and selecting "Edit properties..." menu item.
3. Enable the "Group with photo" option in the form.
4. Select from the list that opens the photo with which you want to group the picture (ungrouped or any of those that are included in the desired group).
5. Click "Apply" button.

How to group several previously uploaded pictures at once?

To include any number of photos into a group at once, you need to use a special page for grouping pictures.

You can open page to group images of any author by clicking on any image preview and selecting "Group photos of author" in the menu that appears. If you want to group your pictures, just click on the link "Grouping of images" located on the left panel of the site.

In both cases, you will be redirected to the "Grouping of images" page, where all the photos of this author that are not included in any of the existing groups will be presented. Please note that if all photos of this author are already grouped, or if he uploaded only one photo of this taxon, the page will be empty. To create a group, turn on the checkboxes next to the desired pictures and click the "Group" button.

How to move a photo from one group to another?

1. Go to the "Set of images" page of the taxon.
2. Open the form by clicking on the "preview" and selecting "Edit properties..." menu item.
3. Select any photo that belongs to the desired group in the list that opens.
4. Click "Apply" button.

How to remove a photo from a group?

1. Go to the "Set of images" page of the taxon.
2. Open the form by clicking on the "preview" and selecting "Edit properties..." menu item.
3. Disable the "Group with photo" option in the form.
4. Click "Apply" button.
